Welcome to Beth's Blog page:
January 26, 2010 I don't write here often, but tonight I'm missing my Mom. She is in the transition between life and death. My memories have been that she puts a smile on her face and makes the most out of what is. And with this change she has put a smile on her face and making the most out the time left in her current embodiment.
My wish for her has been that she remain in grace and an internal peace with the passing of her earthsuit, and I'm bless to watch her walk down this very narrow path. There is no turning back from death as we know it. I asked that you hold her and my family in your thoughts and prayers.
My brother's birthday is two days away as our Mom's time is rapidly approaching. It's in these precious moments that we have the great reminder to love each other and to live in a state of conscious cooperation. Embrace life and share it those you love and care for.
Thank you to all those beautiful hearts that have reached out to help me along this journey called life. Peace and Love, Beth
October 30, 2009 Very slowly I'm starting to resurface after being down with the flu for the past week. Not only was it the worst strain I've experienced in years, but add my Grandmother's death and funeral in there too and I couldn't have told you which end was up. Being sealed in a thick layer of mucus where it it was challenging to even form words. It seemed both to hear and to form words took great effort. I'm really not one to complain much, but if someone says they have the flu give them a wide girth. My world was small swatch of couch and the bed where I slivered, sneezed, coughed, coughed, coughed, hacked, sweated, drank lots of water, lemon water, sucked on natural cough drop after natural cough drop. Somehow I mustered up the strength to drive to Dallas on Tuesday for my Grandmother's funeral and then back in the same day, which I quickly collapsed again once home in bed. The dizziness and fog became more severe for the next 24 hours after my return.
This morning I'm sorting out which end is up while looking at the mess that surrounds me. I'm glad the fog is lifting and I'm sure within a couple more days I will be back to my usually high energy self. I had really thought this year I was immune from catching the flu, because of this belief I was arrogant and I didn't take the necessary precautions to insure that remain the case.
July 24, 2009 I have just completed my vision training at the H.I.T. center. And every area has improved. My eyes feel stronger and focusing more quickly between near and far. Here the interesting part, my brain is working faster too. As the eyes improve, memory improves too. The suggestion is to go through the vision training every 3-6 months. I'd definitely love to go through it again. I actually think that it would improve even more. Why? Because of my wedding and honeymoon I took three weeks off and then restarted. Fortunately my vision stayed strong just a little slow in the response time.
There is such a huge life long benefit by taking time for personal maintenance, and that's what the vision training did for me. Taking care of this sacred vessel, so I enjoy this world more and more.
May 13, 2009 Wow, I've gone through six 30 minute sessions over the last few weeks. Each session gets a little more challenging. One day I was reading letters and numbers off a spinning wheel, that was interesting and to date probably the most challenging for me. Today I was standing and squatting on squishy balance steps while reading numbers. Now that doesn't sound too tough, but having to find one (1) on the left board and then finding the two (2) on the right board without moving your head to the left or right. I went to 50 doing this.
I really love this program; its eye aerobics. The entire program also improves hand eye coordination. With some of the exercises your memory is improved too. What I notice is that with each session my eyes feel a little bit stronger. I find it amazing the I am visually seeing more and I'm not as sensitive to light whether too much or too little. In the beginning, after about two hours my eyes felt weaker again, but with the last couple of sessions the improvement is lasting longer. Plus at night it's easier too.
April 30, 2009 I've started with my first visual session at the H.I.T. Center (high intensity training). This is a center for serious athletes, but I'm not a serious athlete. Why do I go? For the visual training. I know how to take care the eyes through nutrition and eye washes, and once or twice a year I go through a series of eye exercises (eye aerobics) to strengthen the muscles of the eyes. This year I decided to go through International Sports Vision training because the exercises are more intensive than what I've used in the past.
After this first session my eyes felt like they had been given a bigger windshield just like in a car. The improved vision lasted about two hours. I'll keep you posted on the progress as I move through the 6-8 week series. www.hitcenteraustin.com/
April 22, 2009 The temperatures have finally warmed up here in Austin, and because it has, I'd rather play and look at all the flowers. There are some days that schedules just don't permit us to play all day, but we can spend a few minutes here and there to enjoy the outdoors. Work today is primarily an inside job, so the vital light and nutrients are missed unless we take those few moments.
Yes, my spirit just as yours can get restless, so I stop and take a deep breath and meditate with the gayatri mantra. Sometimes when I first begin I want to rush it because I have other THINGS that must get done, but then I slow down and just be. Afterwords everything seems more peaceful because I am more present. It's easy to notice the bee collecting pollen and the dog sweetly watching me. When I take this time for me, there IS more time in the day to get everything else done.
February 11, 2009
What is the zen state? To me it's living now in a state of peace while staying connected to my heart, so I act from my values. Now this took a while to master, and I'm continuing to master it more and more. Every time I find myself wandering into the then and when (past and future), I'm not fully focusing on today. Just as I suggest to you, I, too, stop and take a breath, so I return to zen.
January 26, 2009 This note is to say how very proud I am knowing that each of you has taken time to improve yourself. Whether I've seen you once or a dozen or more times, if you are taking the time to say yes to a better you, then you are saying yes to God and the Divine in you. There are so many events that shape us, some for the better. No matter where you are today stop and say thank you to that higher self that exists inside. I am so happy and grateful for each of you. I love to see how the light of God moves through your eyes with each upgrade. Continue daily to read something uplifting. Know that I am here.
November 11, 2008 For 25 years I have cleansed twice a year. I've done everything from water fasts, juice fasts, watermelon fasts, master cleanses, colon cleanses, parasite cleanses and by far the best cleanse I've ever had was this past week. Seven days fasting on my master cleanse recipe of lemons, water, aloe vera, niacin water, humic minerals, fulvic acid and agave nectar. I'll have it posted on my site soon. I just making some editing changes. Doing the cleanse I was giving my body the opportunity to rest physically, so that excess debris could have a chance to get out. The first two days of the cleanse made me a little spacey, so I rested a lot. This is normal when fasting, but by the third day I had the energy to exercise and keep a pretty active schedule. I'm thrilled that I took the time to do this peculiar cleanse. What an awesome way to go into the holidays.
