For each person, and his or her needs, the road to a successful cleanse is best monitored by someone that has years of knowledge and experience unless you have lots of experience already. This pamphlet is dedicated to those that desire a very effective cleanse that is also gentle on the body.
Since 1983 I have done several fasts. I started learning about cleansing, fasting and healing my body after being diagnosed with a fourth stage, poorly-differentiated, small cell lymphoma with less than six months to live.
Throughout the years I've done water fasts, juice fasts, watermelon fasts, green drink fasts plus the master cleanse. What I know is fasting is good for the body and mind. When a person is fasting, the body is given a much, needed break from constant work both day and night. I think for most people the body is working so hard just to digest the mass quantity of foods consumed that there is no time for it to rejuvenate. Obviously this is the short version answer.
A good cleanse once or twice a year is great for keeping all the parts in good working order. Those of us who are involved daily in healthier lifestyles, know and use different internal cleanses on a yearly basis. One of the more popular ones is the Master Cleanse. Hundred of times a year I'm asked if this is a good cleanse, and, yes, the famous lemon and cayenne mix is fantastic for ridding the body of mucous and toxic waste although it is hard on the teeth. It is best to brush the teeth after drinking the master cleanse.
During this last year what I have also come to know is that there are those that cannot tolerate the cayenne because they are not accustom to spice. Being raised in Texas I had never considered this possibility, spice is just a part of the native cuisine around here.
With the original recipe it says if you can't take the cayenne in the lemon mixture, then take it in capsule form, but many complain it burns their stomach when the capsules dissolve, and I have to agree.
One day while considering a better way to fast, this wonderful recipe just showed up in 3-D in my mind's eye, and I knew I had to do it. I completed the seven fast, and oh my gosh, it truly is the best fast I've ever done. Little aches and pains disappeared, my body was able to rest and rejuvenate. It was easier for my body to choose healthier foods afterwords.
Maybe some of you are saying that's great, but can you help others on their fast. YES, I've helped hundreds with cleansing, healing and fasting. The majority of the clients I monitored on fasts were three to 10 day fast.
The longest fast I've monitored for a client was 156 days. The day she ended the fast was 9/11. The stress of the events was too much, as many of us know. She had severe weight issues, her skin was losing collagen and was appearing to split. She lost well over 100 pounds and probably had another 80 to go. She could walk, cross her legs and enjoy life more. And her skin was absolutely clear and had its elasticity back. There was no sagging skin.
The value of having an experienced, natural health care teacher to monitor you is absolutely crucial. Unless you have done a lot of cleansing and fasting, you won't know some what the body can go through, how to gentle correct course or how to begin and end a fast.
How to begin: If you already eat pretty healthy, meaning a vegan, gluten-free diet, then tighten up your diet even more for 3 days prior to starting the master cleanse. Preferably eating mostly salads. Limit the fruit. If your diet is standard American diet, then it will be best to begin cleaning up you diet for a month or two first. Call me to get started.
What can you do today? Reduce sugar intake, eliminate consumption of dairy, increase water intake, eat more vegetables and get better sleep.
The Day Before the Fast: • Do not eat after 3:00 p.m. • Make the niacin water • Lymph flush (optional) Add 1 tablespoon of sea salt to a 1-quart bottle, add water. Shake it well and drink it within 15 minutes. Always drink it on an empty stomach. Be sure to stay close to a bathroom because within 15 minutes to 2 hours the bowels will begin to clear out. The salt water creates a saline that will flush out the bowels and lymph nodes throughout the elimination system. The stools will be really watery plus it helps to dislodge mucous and petrified waste within the colon.
I will do the lymph flush the night before the fast or anytime during "the cleanse" if I experience a lot of cramping. This is usually a sign that the body needs a little bit of assistance in dislodging the petrified poop.
Duration: 7
What you will need for 7 days: 42 lemons 3 ½ cups of agave nectar (or less) 3 capsules of Twin Labs 1000 mg., yeast-free niacin 1 quart of Humic Minerals 2 quarts of Fulvic Acid 21 tablespoons chia seeds (you can use a little less if you wish) 1 gallon Aloe Vera
Daily Ingredients: 6 Lemons Raw Agave Nectar - no more than ½ cup Niacin Water – 10 ounces (You will use 3 capsules during the 7 days) Humic Minerals – 4 ounces (You will use 1 quart during the 7 days) Fulvic Acid – 8 ounces (You will use 2 quarts during the 7 days) Aloe Vera Juice – 10 ounces George's Fractionally Distilled Liquid 1 gallon for 7 days Filtered Water – 2 plus quarts of water 3 Tablespoons of chia seeds
Optional: Ginger Tea to drink separately or add to cleansing mixture. Chlorophyll 3 dropperful daily
How to Make Niacin water: Twin Labs, Yeast Free 1000 mg. capsules Open 1-capsule, empty contents into a 1-quart bottle, fill with filtered water, shake and put in the refrigerator. It will continue dissolving during the night.
Why do I use Niacin Water? Niacin is a B vitamin and dilates the blood vessels thus increasing flow of blood throughout the body. Because of the increased circulation some people experience a flushing in the face, along with feeling hot and mild itching. This goes away in about 40 minutes. It's known as a niacin rush. If you take it in pill form, the niacin could irritate a peptic ulcer, so this is why the niacin water works so well. Each day there will be approximately 333.3 mg. of niacin water in the cleansing solution. Just call your local health food store and ask if they carry Twin Labs, Yeast Free 1000 mg. capsules. One bottle will last for more than a year since one capsule makes 32 ounces. Just as an FYI: Cayenne is a dilator too, but this recipe is without the cayenne.
Doctors prescribe niacin to people with heart conditions, poor vision, erectile dysfunction, depression and more.
Lemons contain high levels of vitamin C, and are a master at alkalizing the body when ingested with water (lemon juice). In natural medicine, the lemon is known across continents for its many healing powers. The Romans used lemons as a cure all for treating any type of poison. It aids digestion by expelling wind, and eliminating constipation. It prevents rheumatism, and destroys intestinal worms.
Lemon juice is a powerful antibacterial and acts as a tonic to the liver by stimulating it to produce bile thus making it ready to digest food. And, yes the lemon has thought to help dissolve gallstones, work as a diuretic, clear up urinary tract infections, and relieve headaches.
Why I use agave nectar? Raw agave nectar has a low glycemic index and is safe for diabetics to take. Even though maple syrup does have minerals it doesn't have as many minerals as I'd like, so this is why I add the Humic Minerals and Fulvic Acid. Both of these minerals come deep within the earth. Rumor has it that Fulvic acid breaks down and washes away malignancies in the body.
Why humic minerals and fulvic acid? Both humic and fulvic products are prepared to be anti-tumor, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitical. They both repair the DNA, Detox and rebuild the liver. These statements do not mean they are slightly effective. They are extremely effective.*
Why I add Aloe Vera Juice? Aloe Vera and its uses are recognized since early biblical times for its many healing properties including being very soothing and lubricating to the inside of our bodies. George's is able to capture the benefits of aloe Vera without having to add preservatives like other companies. And George's is consistent in taste and doesn't have to be refrigerated.
Why I use chia seeds? Chia seeds are considered an endurance food, keeping the body hydrated while maintaining insulin levels. The chia seeds are quite magical in keeping the intestines clean and colon moving, the little seeds help collect the toxins as the old feces is being moved out.
Many cleanses suggest using laxative teas and colonics. I have found colonics very useful when my body was in a healing crisis, but to drink laxative teas while fasting can cause cramping.
Optional: Ginger Tea During a cleanse sometimes I person can feel cold, so drinking some hot ginger tea with a little bit of agave nectar can warm you right up. Usually on 2 or 3 days I add the ginger tea to my cleansing mixture for a slight variation.
Optional: Chlorophyll Chlorophyll is a great source for oxygenating the body while cleaning up heavy metals in the blood stream. I will either put a dropper full into a small glass of water 2 to 3 times a day and drink down or mix it with about 4 ounces of the cleansing mixture and drink down.
The Beginning of Each Day: Mix the lemon juice, agave nectar, niacin water, humic minerals, fulvic acid and aloe vera in a gallon bottle. After mixing well add good filtered water to fill the bottle.
This is the fast/cleansing mixture. Drink this throughout the day. You can have as much water as you'd like, but you will probably feel pretty full with the lemon fast mixture.
Three times during the day, pour 12-16 ounces of mixture into a jar and add 1-Tablespoon of dry chia seeds. Put the lid on the jar and shake. Every few minutes, shake the mixture again until 20 or 30 minutes have passed. This allows the seeds to swell and hydrate. Drink the mixture with the chia seeds within 15 minutes.
You will mix 1-Tablespoon of chia seeds twice more during the day, consuming a total of 3-Tablespoons of chia seeds.
The first two days are the toughest. So you may find it necessary to put a little bit of agave nectar under your tongue a couple of times to help alleviate blood sugar levels.
Throughout the seven days, but most especially during the first two days, rest often. You may find yourself going to bed early. Remember this is the time for the body to rejuvenate through lots of rest.
The greatest thing about keeping a body clean is that it keeps the parts working without all the creaks and groans. If you clean now, you reduce the chance of anything accumulating and forming anything life threatening.
How to end a fast? Ending a fast is every bit as important as beginning a cleanse. Take three days adjusting back to food. And during those three days continue to mix your lemon water mix or slight variation. Here is an example of how I end a fast:
Day 1: Eat ½ an orange, tangerine or ¼ of a grapefruit or pummelo. Throughout the day continue to drink lemon mixture or variation.
Day 2: Eat ½ an orange, tangerine or ¼ of a grapefruit or pummelo both morning and night.
Make banana milk and drink and/or eat small salad. The salad should have only three vegetables in it for simplicity of digestion in your intestines and colon. (i.e. lettuce, cucumber and tomato or lettuce, sprouts, carrots).
Day 3: Make banana milk, eat a tangerine or two, mid-day have a small salad. If you wish to continue to eat raw, eat a second salad later in the day or make fresh veggie juice. If you say I'm having cooked food, then lightly steam some veggies or make a vegetable soup that has not been cooked a lot.
What you will find if you start eating like you did before the fast, the body may object with gas, indigestion, bloating, sluggishness, etc. Your body will not require as much food afterwards, so eat small meals. And think each meal how to make better food choices.
